What a special wedding day we witnessed earlier this summer, proving romance is alive and well in the South West. Sue and Nigel were married at St Paul and St Peter Church in Bleadon – 32 years after their original wedding date.

Back in November 1987, the couple were planning their wedding – the church was booked, the dress was bought, and a photographer was ready to capture their big day. Sadly, for a number of family reasons the wedding didn’t happen as planned. Despite the change in plans Sue and Nigel have lived together, happily for the last 32 years.

In July, 2018 they decided it was time to re-visit their wedding plans! They wanted to try and re-create their special day as closely as possible. They booked St Paul and St Peter Church for a date in July. Sue had kept her original wedding dress and had some alterations to make it suitable for a summer wedding. They contacted their original photographer who had since retired, but he remembered this lovely couple and happily agreed to take their wedding photographs. Although we weren’t part of the original wedding plans we were thrilled to be asked to provide a sleek, luxury black wedding car to take Sue and Nigel to the church and later to the Royal Hotel, Weston-super-Mare for their reception.

The sun shone, it was a beautiful day and you can see from the photos – there were smiles all around.
